School Based Virtual Health Program
Your Kid's Urgent Care's School-Based Virtual Health Program aims to bring the expertise of pediatric providers at no cost to the local schools. Our program gives your families access to pediatric providers via a telemedicine platform. With specialized equipment, our providers can obtain important vitals on the student from the comfort of their school. Our provider can even closely examine the student's ears, throat, rash, or abrasions with a high-definition camera, all provided as part of the program. In addition, our platform allows for a 3rd party (parent or guardian) to join the medical visit.
What happens during a visit?
With a parent’s permission and prior registration, when a student gets sent to the office/clinic due to an unknown illness, a staff member can pull up our platform. The school staff member will then assist the patient in using the easy-to-use digital equipment. From there, the Provider will ask questions to conduct their assessment and diagnose the student. If the Provider feels a lab test is necessary, the parent can stop by one of our convenient sites with their child and be fast tacked to the lab for the test. Should a lab test not be necessary, the family will be given a prescription (if applicable) and return to school and follow-up care instructions. Your Kid’s Urgent Care will bill the child’s insurance directly, and will handle all administrative tasks, leaving no extra work for the school.
Our School-Based Virtual Health initiative is intended to save you time and provide high-quality virtual care with no comprises. It can also reduce outbreaks of contagious illnesses and reduce lost school days. Your Kid’s Urgent Care’s goal is to get your child feeling better as soon as possible.
